Building Confidence Through Outdoor Experience
Students who participate safely in outdoor activities learn to associate nature with fun, challenge, and discovery. At the Bryant Pond 4-H Camp & Learning Center, outdoor recreation is an essential part of how we teach and inspire young people. Through guided experiences on the water, in the woods, and on the ropes course, participants build not only skills, but also a deeper sense of confidence and belonging.
Outdoor recreation helps individuals connect with their own potential. As a result, participants develop self-esteem, self-reliance, and resilience that extend far beyond camp. Activities such as kayaking, canoeing, orienteering, hiking, high ropes, fishing, and archery foster comfort in outdoor settings and encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and personal growth.
At Bryant Pond, these experiences are intentionally designed to create lasting connections, to nature, to community, and to a lifelong appreciation for healthy outdoor living.
