Join us for a tour of Pine Root Farm. Farm owner, Ruby Nelson will discuss the five different models she and neighboring farmers use to share fresh produce with low income Mainers. She’ll provide an overview about how her work developed and open up the conversation for others to share their models, experiences, or questions. We’ll also discuss the UMaine Extension Harvest for Hunger program and how Master Gardener’s and other volunteer groups are working with farmers like Ruby to address food security. Farmers, community partners, volunteers, and any other interested parties are welcome. Potluck supper. Contact Jason.lilley@maine.edu or alibby@mofga.org for more details or to request accommodations.
