
Make Your Own: Oatmeal Packets
Enjoy our customizable Oatmeal Packets! These packs are perfect for meal prepping a healthy breakfast ahead of time. All you need are quick oats + seasoning + dried fruit!
Ingredients
Base Ingredients for All Variations
- ½ cup quick oats
- 1 cup water or non-fat milk
Variation: Apple Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped and dried apples
Variation: Cinnamon Raisin
- 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons raisins
Variation: Cinnamon Spice
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
Variation: Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking unsweetened cocoa
- 1 teaspoon sugar (alternatively add double “quick-type” chocolate drink powder compared to sugar)
Variation: Sweetened
- 1 teaspoon sugar (alternatively add double packed brown sugar compared to white sugar)
Instructions
Prepare the Packet
- Clean the kitchen area and wash hands with soap and water.
- Put quick oats and optional ingredients from chosen flavor combination into a plastic sandwich bag or airtight food-safe container.
- Close bag or container and store for future use. It keeps for 2 months at room temperature.
Prepare to Eat
- Clean the kitchen area and wash hands with soap and water.
- When ready to use, empty packet into microwave-safe bowl.
- Stir in water or milk.
- Microwave on high 2-1⁄2 minutes to 3 minutes.
- Stir before serving.
