The Junior Maine Woodcraft program allows campers to learn the skills of the traditional Maine Guide, and modern backcountry travel and camping.

Campers will enjoy the true Maine wilderness and learn traditional outdoor skills in this exciting hands-on experience. The week will be spent learning and practicing fire building, wilderness cooking, canoeing, tree ID, hiking, knife and saw skills, and more! The group will end the week with an overnight campout where they will put their new skills to the test. Campers will still have time for other camp activities such as swimming, boating, shelter building, and much more.

The Junior Maine Woodcraft program is the first step towards becoming a Junior Maine Guide. Some campers will choose to follow the woodcraft path towards this achievement, while others simply enjoy the excitement and challenges of this wonderful program and may return to try something new.

In this program, campers will live at our remote campsite. All tents and camping gear will be provided by the camp. Sleeping bags available for use upon request.
