Tanglewood Facility Rental

Our Tanglewood facility hosts organizations and/or events that support our vision (such as those with an environmental or educational theme), or those serving local community groups. For other events, please consider Blueberry Cove.

The tranquil forest setting of Tanglewood has a wonderful atmosphere. Surrounded by over 900 acres of woodland, guests to our facility are able to enjoy the abundance of natural beauty in the area.

We have 12 miles of hiking trail (foot traffic only), catch and release fly fishing, playing fields, camp fire sites (several small sites and one that seats 70) and an outdoor amphitheater (seats 70).

Meeting spaces

Tanglewood’s centrally located Dining Hall is our main indoor space. The building, which dates from the 1930s, has a 75–100 person capacity and is equipped with both a fireplace and wood stove. It is connected to Tanglewood’s kitchen facility, and borders a large lawn where our 70-seat amphitheater and a small campfire circle are located.

Smaller spaces meeting/breakout spaces are also available. The Nature Center and Museum have 20 and 15 person capacities respectively and are both heated, however, the Museum is without access to electricity.

Accommodation

Our living accommodations comprise of two heated lodges and three heated cabins, with a total capacity of 55–60, and nine unheated cabins, with a total capacity of 54. Some of the heated lodges and cabins have electricity.

The modern central bath house is heated and includes shower facilities. The female section is equipped with 3 showers, 3 toilets, and 4 wash basins; the male section with 3 showers, 2 toilets, 2 urinals, and 3 wash basins.

There are additional small bath houses close to those cabins situated in satellite living units.

“The Nest” includes its own bathroom with toilet, wash basin, and combined bath/shower.

A fully-furnished kitchen is available and includes cutlery for 120 or you can request that we provide meal service for your group.

Accessibility

The Dining Hall, The Nest, and the main bath house are handicap accessible.

The TREES Trail is a wide 1100 foot long accessible, stonedust trail with seating at regular intervals.

Site Specific Policies

Communication

  • Cell phone reception is very limited. A public telephone is available to user groups. Incoming calls are not easily retrieved. Please make arrangements to access this phone with third party billing options (calling card, collect or return call). The camp business line is not available to groups.
  • Wireless internet is available in the Dining Hall.

Tanglewood is located within the boundaries of Camden Hills State Park and alcohol is not permitted inside state parks.
