Adopt a Tree Challenge
Do you have any trees in your yard? Have you ever wondered how tall they are?
Do you know what kind they are? Did you know that you could measure a tree without having to climb to the top?
If you are ready to learn about trees, try the adopt a tree challenge!
In this challenge, kids become citizen scientists. Kids can measure how tall their tree is, do a bark rubbing, and observe the changes that their tree goes through in a month, a season or even a year. As citizen scientists, youth can learn about their tree through observation and research and even make a science journal to record what they observe.
Keeping a journal is a fun way you can share what you have learned about your tree with your family, teachers and friends.
