Fun with Seeds
With warmer, sunnier days, spring is a great time for outdoor fun! Gardening is a great way for families to learn while being outdoors and enjoying nature. All you need is a few seeds, soil, an old egg carton, and water and you can grow fresh vegetables! Growing fresh vegetables teaches kids basic gardening practices and encourages them to try new foods.
In the Fun with Seeds activity, you can plant some of your favorite seeds and watch them grow. Kids can track the growth of their plants and practice record keeping using the Fun with Seeds Garden Log.
We want to see your gardens! Be sure to post pictures on Facebook and use the hashtags #Maine4H and #Insprirekidstodo
