5.06.13 Mummy Berry Forecast for May 6

Knox and Waldo Counties

There was an infection period recorded at our weather station in West Rockport (Knox County) from Sunday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. to Monday, May 6 at 8:40 a.m.  The recording at our Appleton weather station showed temperatures that were too cool for an infection period to have occurred.

If you have a field that did not have a frost last night and is close to the ocean with about ten hours of fog last night (Sunday) than you have a good chance of an infection period.

If you applied fungicide on or after Friday, April 26, your plants would have been protected through this infection period.  If your plants were not protected, you can apply fungicides up until Wednesday, May 8 at 9:00 p.m. and still have any infection killed off.

All Other Areas

No infection periods were seen at any other weather station.

Please apply any fungicides following the label and this year’s guidelines in the Fact Sheet #219 – Disease Control Guide for Wild Blueberries.
