4.26.18 Mummy Berry Report, April 26
Waldo, Lincoln and Knox Counties
I have heard reports from all of these areas that mummy berry cups are starting to appear in fields. The growers also report the plants are not ready yet. Flower buds are opening but not enough are at F2 stage yet. This current wet weather has probably not caused a Monilinia (mummy berry) infection period unless you have an early field.
We do not have any reports of cups in Hancock or Washington counties yet.
With the warm weather, the plants will be opening quickly. Please check your plants. I expect we will see infection periods next week, if not this weekend in some fields.
