Monilinia infection periods of May 10th to May 11th
Active mummy berry cups were still present at the end of last week in Searsport and Downeast locations. The cups do seem to be starting to dry up in most fields as of Tuesday May 11th but I think there were still active cups in fields. The rain from the last few days (May 10 to May 12) probably caused Monilinia infection in some fields. I do think we are near the end of mummy berry season.
If you applied fungicides 7 to 10 days (about April 30 to May 3) before this set of infection periods, then your plants will probably be protected in this past infection period. If you have not applied fungicides to protect your plants, then you have until about the evening of May 13th to apply a fungicide with kickback activity to possibly decrease Monilinia infection.
Please let me know if your mummy berry plots is finished producing cups.
