Monilinia infection May 6 to 7, cups still around
Midcoast area
There were suitable conditions for Monilinia infection from May 6 to May 7 in the fields with weather stations. The rain started around 3 to 4pm on Wednesday May 6. If you applied fungicides after April 26 to 29 (10 to 7 days from this past infection period, respectively), there is a good chance your plants were protected in this infection period. If you have not applied fungicides, you have until about May 9th late afternoon to apply propiconazole or other related fungicide which will probably provide some decrease in mummy berry disease.
Cups were still present in Waldoboro, Hope and W. Rockport but no new pinheads were seen and most of the cups were starting to die. There may be a chance of Monilinia infection in the Midcoast with the next rain from Saturday May 9th to 10th and on Monday May 11th to Tuesday May 12th. I
Hancock and Washington counties
There were weather conditions that could cause Monilinia infection from May 6 to May 7. Around Blue Hill, Ellsworth and Aurora the rain started in the afternoon of Wednesday May 6 and farther Downeast in the barrens it was in the evening around 9pm. If you have applied fungicides after April 26 to 29 (10 to 7 days from this last infection period, respectively), there is a good chance your plants were protected. If you have not applied fungicides, you have until about May 9th evening to apply propiconazole or other related fungicide which will probably provide some decrease in mummy berry disease.
Cups and pinheads were still present at in some fields in the barrens in the past week, but some fields the cups were drying up. I think there is still a good chance of Monilinia infection in these areas with the next forecasts of rain from Saturday May 9th to 10th and on Monday May 11th to Tuesday May 12th.
Please let me know what is happening with your mummy berry plot.
