Frozen Yogurt Bark: An Easy & Fun Sweet Treat

Visit the University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s recipe website for the Frozen Yogurt Bark recipe.

This Frozen Yogurt Bark is a fun summer treat that is fully customizable and is a simple recipe kids can help with.

The two main ingredients are fruit and yogurt. The rest is optional – cinnamon, granola, crushed cereal, chopped nuts, coconut flakes, or mini chocolate chips, just to name a few additional topping ideas.

This recipe uses nonfat vanilla yogurt, but other yogurts can be used, including non-dairy yogurt. Unflavored yogurt can also be used instead of vanilla to reduce added sugar.

Try a variety of flavor combinations. When I made this recipe, I used frozen strawberries, blueberries, and honey granola. Other flavor combination ideas you could try:

Fruity ideas:

  • Kiwi & raspberry
  • Lemon & blueberry
  • Mixed berries
  • Peachy
  • Tropical – mango, pineapple, kiwi, coconut flakes

Dessert inspired:

  • Apple pie – cinnamon, honey, diced apples, granola
  • Banana split – banana, chocolate, chopped nuts
  • Cherries & chocolate
  • Peanut butter cup – peanut butter, mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts
  • S’mores – crushed graham crackers, mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips
  • Trail mix – granola, mini chocolate chips, dried fruit

If you have children helping with the recipe, depending on their age, they could help with chopping fruit, measuring, mixing, and choosing their favorite flavor combination. I hope you feel confident trying this recipe and making it your own!
