Packing List – Tanglewood overnight programs (on site)
For all Tanglewood Residential Campers:
(1- and 2-week residential camp, hunter safety)
Notes: Double the items with an asterisk (*) for 2-week sessions. Cabin storage is limited, so please pack efficiently. Please remember to label all clothing & belongings, you may also want to include a list of the items brought to camp.
- Warm sleeping bag or sheets and blankets (cabins can get cold at night – even in summer)
- Pillow
- 2 pairs of long pants*
- 2 pairs of shorts*
- 1 long-sleeved shirt (at least)*
- 5 short-sleeved shirts*
- 5 pairs of underwear and socks*
- 1 towel*
- Swimsuit
- Hat with visor
- 1 sweater or sweatshirt (fleece recommended)
- Waterproof raincoat (no ponchos)
- Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc)
- 2 pairs of footwear for walking on trails (sneakers, etc)
- Sandals for getting wet (no flip-flops)
- Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Daypack
- Flashlight/headlamp with extra batteries (we have a battery charger!)
- Reusable water bottle
If your camper takes any medications, pack enough medication to last the entire camp session. ALL items should be in their original packaging, bottle, or container that identifies the prescribing physician (if a prescription drug), the name of the medication, the dosage, and the frequency of administration.
Optional Items:
- Small journal and pencil
- Compass
- Camera
- Hiking boots
- Rubber boots or old sneakers
- Stationery, stamps, envelopes, pen and/or pencil
- Pajamas
- Bag for dirty clothes
- A favorite stuffed animal for sleeping
Please avoid bringing:
- Anything electrical/electronic (digital games/toys, cell phones, etc)
- Money or valuables
- Food
- Weapons of any kind
- Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes
- Live animals or pets
- Vehicles (including bicycles)
- Sports equipment
