Rivers & Rapids (ages 13-15)
Do you enjoy the tranquility of an early morning paddle as the loons silently swim alongside your canoe? Or maybe you’d prefer the crashing of the waves as you navigate the rapids, and hope to make that perfect eddy turn! Rivers and Rapids give you the best of both worlds! You’ll start out with basic paddle strokes and T-Rescues and quickly learn how to travel and paddle efficiently and confidently. You’ll spend a day paddling a section of the Androscoggin River where previous paddlers have spotted moose, bald eagles, giant snapping turtles, osprey, and other wildlife! You will also have an opportunity to earn your Maine State Boating Safety Certification during the week. And of course, you will enjoy all of the other great camp activities offered here at Bryant Pond 4H Camp such as swimming, campfires, choice period. Grab your paddle and let’s hit the water!
