Mainely Dish Recipe Video: 100% Whole Wheat Tortilla
This was my first time making homemade tortillas, and I would say they have personality to them! Although they are not as perfectly round as store-bought tortillas, they tasted great, which is always my main goal when cooking and baking.
Incorporating whole grain foods in your diet is important because whole grains are a great source of fiber. Fiber helps keep your digestive system healthy and can help you feel full for a longer time. This homemade tortilla is lower in sodium than store-bought and it’s surprisingly easy to make.
Tortillas can be used in many different ways, I love making peanut butter and banana wraps, veggie egg wraps, and burritos with them. This is also a great recipe to get kids in the kitchen and have some fun cooking. They can help with measuring and mixing the ingredients and take turns rolling out the dough.
To reheat the tortillas: put one tortilla on a plate and cover it with a damp paper towel, microwave for 20-30 seconds. Recommend storing homemade tortillas in the refrigerator in an airtight container or sealable plastic bag, this will help them last longer.
