Wilderness Survival I (ages 10-13)
Make your way to Split Rock campsite, the traditional home of our Wilderness Survival programs at Bryant Pond, and enter a world you never knew existed. You’ll learn to live away from modern technology and reconnect with the natural world in a beautiful back-country environment. Our days will be spent working on various skills as we follow the Order of Survival and focus on sound shelter building and community living. We’ll construct a camp kitchen and work areas where wilderness cooking will take place.
Tracking skills, sensory awareness, foraging, tool craft, and water purification lessons are just a sample of skills that will be incorporated. Discover the art of camouflage and silent stalking and put it to use to observe wild animals. Evenings will be spent around the campfire, building friendships with your new community of survivalists. Time will also be spent enjoying canoeing, swimming, and other activities.
