Soil & Nutrient Management for Berry Crops:

Note from Charles Armstrong: During the winter and spring of 2011-2012, I participated in a 12-part “Soil and Nutrient Management for Berry Crops” webinar series, a project that was funded by NE SARE (Northeast Sustainable Research and Education Program), and which was organized by Cornell University professors, Marvin Pritts (Professor of Horticulture) and Cathy Heidenreich (Extension Berry Specialist).  I found the webinars quite informative, so I have attempted to capture and share some of the key content from part of the series that might be helpful for cranberry growers.

  • Other Maine Opportunities: Check out UMaine Extension’s Workshops, Classes & Events
  • Massachusetts Workshops/Meetings: Visit the UMass Cranberry Experiment Station’s Upcoming Events Calendar. Typically, Maine growers can get pesticide recertification credits, too, for Massachusetts and other out-of-state workshops if you provide proof of attendance (including a copy of the agenda) afterwards to the Maine Board of Pesticides Control.
